10th Annual National Home Care Cooperative Conference

Foundation to Future: Shaping the Next Decade of Cooperation in Home Care
October 19–21, 2026 | Tacoma, Washington

Join worker-owners, cooperative leaders, developers, and partners from across the country for the 10th Annual National Home Care Cooperative Conference — a milestone gathering for a growing movement.

For ten years, this conference has helped strengthen the home care cooperative sector by creating space to connect, learn, and build together. From early pioneers to emerging start-ups, participants come together to share practical strategies, celebrate progress, and chart the path forward for worker-owned care.

Why This Year Matters

This decade of convening has supported tremendous growth across the field. The 2026 theme — Foundation to Future: Shaping the Next Decade of Cooperation in Home Care — invites us to honor the groundwork laid by caregivers and leaders while imagining what the next ten years can make possible.

Together, we will explore how cooperative models can:

  • Strengthen quality care for elders and people with disabilities

  • Improve jobs and career pathways for caregivers

  • Build sustainable, community-rooted businesses

  • Scale worker ownership across the care economy

Whether you are part of an established co-op, a start-up team, or a supporting organization, this gathering offers a rare opportunity to learn directly from peers facing similar challenges and opportunities.

Who Should Attend

  • Worker-owners and cooperative members

  • Caregivers and home care staff

  • Cooperative leaders and board members

  • Start-ups exploring the cooperative model

  • Technical assistance providers and developers

  • Policy advocates, funders, and partners

Scholarship Applications Open in Early April

We are committed to making this gathering accessible to the people at the heart of home care cooperatives.

Scholarships for cooperatives and start-ups will open in early April. Now is a good time to begin planning:

  • Who from your co-op would benefit most from attending?

  • Could caregivers, office staff, and board members participate together?

  • What portion of costs can your organization cover?

  • What additional support would help make attendance possible?

Priority will be given to applicants demonstrating financial need and strong alignment with the goals of the conference. Additional considerations may include:

  • Participation of frontline caregivers

  • First-time attendees

  • Engagement with sector initiatives such as benchmarking efforts

  • Membership in relevant networks

  • Representation of historically marginalized communities

Note: At this time, scholarships are not available for co-op developers. Developers serving rural communities may wish to explore alternative professional scholarship opportunities through partner organizations.
